Hello everyone…my Name is Joe..and I am a newly appointed flight instructor at Western Michigan University here in Battle Creek, MI. I currently am also a student at WMU in Kalamazoo(where the main campus is) finishing up my degree in Aviation Science. Originally from Michigan I am very used to all the snow we are currently getting, 10 inches+ in the last 24 hours, but the beauty will be hard to leave since my dream of becoming an airline pilot is the formost priority right now.

Now about my job and what I fly….I am finishing up my 141 checkride this week(fingers x’d) in the Cirrus SR-20 G2, and also the SR-22 if I can help it. The SR-20 is our primary aircraft for training, and let me tell you this is one sweet bird with a glass cockpit. At first I was over whelmed by the automation, but the more one gets used to all the information, you can’t imagine yourself without it. The airplane is very easy to fly, and I am looking forward to instructing those young amibitious souls.

I will be trying to update this often as to a little insight in the life of a 141 flight instructor aspiring to get into the airline world.

so long for now…..joe
